The Turn Technician prepares and maintains all outgoing and incoming equipment for new and completed rentals. This position is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the yard and keeping the rental equipment organized to minimize customer wait time.
Essential Functions
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of equipment or systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or software issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Install and configure new systems, equipment, or devices as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service logs and inventory management.
  • Assist in the setup, calibration, and testing of equipment or systems.
  • Provide technical support to staff or customers and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Repair faulty components, wiring, and parts of machinery or devices as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure all tools and equipment are properly stored.

Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Valid state-issued Driver's License

  • Work is primarily conducted in construction sites, equipment yards, and transportation routes
  • Regular exposure to heavy machinery and diesel-powered equipment in operation
  • Frequent outdoor work in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and wind
  • Physically demanding environment with uneven terrain, dust, mud, and loud noise levels
  • Duties may involve both shop-based tasks and fieldwork including travel to remote job sites
  • Strict adherence to safety protocols required at all times
  • Personal protective equipment such as steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection may be required
  • Must be comfortable operating around large equipment, in confined spaces, or working from elevated positions
  • Lifting heavy components and materials is often required
  • Flexibility and adaptability are essential as job site conditions and priorities can change rapidly
Travel Required
  • May require traveling for training classes or seminars
  • May require driving to various vendors to acquire parts for assigned repairs
Physical Demands
  • Requires a high level of physical stamina and mobility to perform duties in jobsite and yard environments
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, and maneuvering of tools, chains, tarps, and equipment weighing 50+ pounds
  • Regular bending, squatting, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
  • Prolonged standing, walking, and working on uneven terrain such as gravel, dirt, or pavement
  • Climbing in and out of trucks, onto trailers, or onto equipment is required
  • Must maintain balance while working from steps, ladders, or elevated platforms
  • Fine motor skills and dexterity required for handling controls, tie-downs, and documentation
  • Must safely operate commercial vehicles and remain alert in potentially hazardous yard or driving conditions
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, and positioning of heavy materials or components
