As a Service Technician, you’ll diagnose and repair agricultural, turf, and compact construction equipment. You’ll be the go-to expert our customers rely on to keep their operations running, handling everything from routine maintenance to advanced diagnostics. You’ll also support precision ag technology, maintain your tools and service vehicle, and stay sharp through ongoing John Deere training.


  • Performs on-site diagnostics and repairs on agricultural, CWP, and turf equipment, as well as established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products.

  • Participates in required Service EDUCATE training programs.

  • Supports customer clinics.

  • Reviews and explains any maintenance, repair, or other service concerns directly with customers and documents them on work orders.

  • May promote and sell Premier Equipment Ltd. service programs directly to customers.

  • May establish and implement effective stocking processes with the Parts Department to maintain the proper seasonal parts inventory in the vehicle.

  • Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.

  • Follows all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments.

  • Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.

  • Accounts for all time and materials used in performing assigned duties.


  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on service repair experience.
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic abilities.
  • Proficient with diagnostic tools and basic computer functions.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 75lbs. repeatedly and operate diagnostic equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred

  • Licensed technician (310T, 310S, 421A, or 425A).

  • Advanced or Master Service Technician certification or equivalent experience.

  • Experience with John Deere equipment and systems.

  • CDL and forklift licenses.

  • Background in agricultural, turf, or compact construction equipment.

Education

  • Apprenticeship training or technical diploma is an asset.

Placement within the wage range is based on skills, experience and qualifications.
