Job description

Life’s too short to not work someplace awesome. If you love kids, love moving, and want a job where the vibe is as important as the skills—you might be our next coach.
The Little Gym of Englewood is a gymnastics-based enrichment center for children 4 months–12 years. We build confidence, coordination, and joy through movement, music, and imaginative play (a.k.a. Serious Fun).
The Role
As a Gymnastics Coach, you’ll lead and assist classes, help kids reach new milestones, and create an upbeat, supportive environment that keeps families coming back week after week.
Gymnastics experience is required. (Coaching experience is a plus, but we can train the right person.)
What You’ll Do
  • Lead and assist gymnastics-based classes for children ages 4 months–12 years

  • Deliver fun, safe, high-energy lessons using The Little Gym curriculum (we’ll train you on our method!)
  • Use age-appropriate progressions to support kids of all ability levels

  • Spot safely and follow best practices for equipment setup, use, and clean-up
  • Track student growth and share helpful, encouraging feedback with parents
  • Create a warm, positive environment where every child feels seen, supported, and successful
  • Provide excellent customer service—our members are family
  • Support events and programming (birthdays, camps, showcases, special events)
  • Help keep the gym clean, organized, and class-ready

  • Participate in staff meetings and ongoing training
The “Vibe” Requirements (Yes, Really)
This is an active, playful job. You should be ready to enthusiastically:
sing, tumble, cheer, dance, jump, wiggle, skip, high-five, smile, and laugh—often—all while keeping structure and safety top of mind.
You’ll Fit In If…
  • You genuinely love working with kids (non-negotiable)
  • You bring positive energy and can lead a room with confidence
  • You’re dependable, on time, and thrive on a tight schedule
  • You communicate clearly with both families and leadership
  • You can switch between “silly fun” and “focused coaching” in a heartbeat
  • You take pride in doing things the right way—especially safety
Requirements
  • Gymnastics experience required (athlete, coach, or equivalent)
  • Reliable transportation (gym is in Englewood, NJ)
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends

  • Strong time management and communication skills
  • Comfortable being active for extended periods (standing, lifting mats, demonstrating skills)
Preferred (Nice-to-Haves)

  • Experience teaching/coaching children
  • Background in early childhood education, cheer, dance, or sports instruction
  • CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
Pay & Perks
  • $16.00–$20.00 per hour (based on experience)
  • Paid training in The Little Gym method and class delivery
  • A supportive team, growth opportunities, and a job that actually feels fun
