About Meijer Heart Center

The heart and vascular systems demand extraordinary care. It begins with heart specialists who can expertly monitor your entire heart and vascular system and perform anything from a bypass to vascular surgery to a heart and lung transplant. Discover a true continuum of heart and vascular care.Through research, innovative treatments, and best practices our teams are advancing heart and vascular care for the patients we are privileged to treat. Our other sites are outpatient imaging departments.

Scope of work

Echo Techs perform a variety of cardiac testing including, stress, transesophageal, transthoracic, dobutamine stress echocardiograms and others as indicated (ICE, 3D, strain, specialty and fetal echocardiograms); calculates acquired data and prepares study for medical staff interpretation. Performs ultrasound tests appropriate for patient specific morphology and pathology.


Qualifications

  • Required Associate's Degree from an accredited ultrasound program or equivalent

  • skills, knowledge, abilities typically gained through schooling training and experience related to echo including in two-dimensional, doppler, color doppler, transesophageal echocardiology (TEE), transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), stress echo and understanding of complex congenital heart disease and surgical repairs. Required

  • 3 years of relevant experience in two-dimensional, doppler, color doppler, transesophageal echocardiology (TEE), transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), stress echos and understanding of complex congenital heart disease and surgical repairs. Preferred

  • CRT-Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RDCS) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Upon Hire required Or

  • CRT-Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RCS) Upon Hire required Or

  • CRT-Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography HDVCH Upon Hire required

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC within 90 days required
