Job description

The role is responsible for gathering and analyzing client business requirements to identify and solve technical problems related to Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Energy Management System (EMS) applications including Generation and Dispatch Control (GDC) a.k.a. Automatic Generation Control (AGC), Inter-Control Center Communication Protocol (ICCP), Transmission Security Management (TSM), and Dispatch Training Simulator (DTS), which are all used for controlling and monitoring Bulk Electric System (BES) grid. In-depth technical skills are required for system configuration, problem analysis determination, and the ability to resolve issues related to real-time technology and operations. Act as communication liaison and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for EMS applications between business partners, IT teams that include project staff and Expertidual contributors, application Expertery support personnel, Operational Technology (OT) converged infrastructure, network, and shared services teams. This role also assists in the configuration, implementation, and support of several interfaces for EMS applications to existing enterprise applications such as Enterprise Services Bus (ESB), Application Programmer Interfaces (APIs), OSI Soft PI interface, etc.

Job Description:

  • EMS SCADA Consultant II Hybrid (3 Days On-site 2 Days WFH)
  • Previous experience working with ICCP, RTU and Reliance Application (XA-21)
  • Previous experience working with Electric SCADA Systems & Real-Time Data Broadcasting.
  • Understanding with networking protocols, automation, and control system.
  • Engage in project management activities to communicate with EPC, neighboring utilities, and external and Internal stakeholders to deliver projects on-time.
  • Proficiency in programming languages for system integration or scripting, such as C, C++, PowerShell, Python, VB, PERL, Linux, or similar.
  • Experience in the Control Center is advantageous.
  • Building/developing HMI screen and modifying database points.
  • Experience with Regulated support Model NERC-CIP and Change Management process & Tools(ServiceNow)
  • Possessing an electrical engineering/Computer Engineer bachelor's degree.
  • Data Historian Experience PI
  • Experience in OATI Web Application & integration with EMS System.
  • Experience in Digi, Engage & Meinbergs.

Preferred Skills:

  • Direct experience working with TSM, AGDC, Time & Frequency, Sequential Control, SOE/Alarm management, ICCP, RTU, Data Broadcast, Historian PI, and Reliance Application (XA-21)
  • Excellent Analytical Skills and Positive Mindset to deal with Day-to-Day Application/Operation Issues.
  • Experience working with Custom Scripts/Integrations Python, PERL, VB, SQL etc.
  • Direct Experience in supporting Linux Environment.
  • Direct Experience in Vendor and Stakeholders Engagement as well as proficient in utilizing effective communications.
