Motor Vehicle Operator - Full Performance (Top Secret)Full performance MVOs are responsible for the transportation of Sponsor personnel by car, van, shuttle or motorcoach bus to various government and commercial buildings throughout the WMA, as well as beyond the WMA when needed.Duties/Tasks and ResponsibilitiesSafely and securely transport Sponsor customers based on the requests provided by the TSC Dispatch team on a daily basis.Operates cars, vans, shuttles, and/or motorcoach buses to transport personnel.Verbally acknowledge driving assignments, verify passengers and communicate with TSC Dispatch of any pertinent updates relating to TSC's daily operations.Maintain up to date knowledge of current traffic, parking, and safety rules.Ensure passenger safety by observing all traffic laws, anticipating hazardous conditions and practicing defensive driving techniques.Maintain communication with TSC Dispatch, and immediately report all incidents that may impact TSC operations.Utilize maps and available GPS units, provided by the Sponsor, to accurately plan most efficient driving routes and complete customer pick-ups and drop-offs on schedule.Analyze each driver assignment to verify passenger count, locations, routes, and vehicle needs prior to executing any assignment.Promptly submit completed driver assignment metrics and tickets to the TSC Dispatch team.Exhibit heightened situational awareness appropriate to the Intelligence Community (IC) environment and takes appropriate actions.Before transporting passengers, perform the basic maintenance and safety checks shown below and reports any issues or concerns to management:Checks fuel, water, oil levels, checks tire pressure; and belts as necessary.Changes flat tires as necessary.Washes and cleans the exterior and interior of vehicle on a regular basis.Ensures all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety-checks are met prior to operating vehicle.Mentoring/TrainingAssist in updating standard operating procedures for use in training new or more junior MVOs and maintaining MVO proficiencyAssist new contractor MVOs on all MVO functions and responsibilities to include customer service expectations, professionalism, and the need for situational awareness and discretion with customer conversationsOther Duties as AssignedKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDemonstrates excellent communication with coworkers, customers, and managers.Ability to develop rapport at all levels with coworkers, customers, and managers.Demonstrated excellent customer service skillsStrong interpersonal skills necessary to elicit cooperation and support from others, and to interact tactfully and effectively with customers, co-workers, supervisors, and other Sponsor staff.Exhibits a high level of professionalism in attitude, dress, and decorum commensurate with the level of seniority of the customer being transported.Considerable knowledge of WMA including the location of various government office buildings.Considerable knowledge of traffic, parking and safety laws.Thorough knowledge of Sponsor-unique policies, security, and regulations that pertain to the secure transportation of customers to Sponsor-related sites.Extensive experience with vehicles that enables the driver to proactively spot potential maintenance issues, and report them to the maintenance teamExtensive experience operating a diverse range of motor vehicles of varying tonnage and axles, including cars, vans, shuttles, and charter buses.Proficient at reading and accurately interpreting a road map.Ability to operate a cell phone and tablet communication system as required by Sponsor's Dispatch team.Willingness to mentor others, and the ability to apply that experience to this environment.Willingness to expand driving capabilities to larger vehicles, and more challenging runs.Work EnvironmentWork is performed in all types of weather and traffic conditions and can include work on the weekends and holidays. Individuals may be called to duty to transport customers for extended hours into the evening, late night and/or early morning hours during the workweek and weekends, on either a modified or overtime schedule. Professional dress is required for all MVOs.Tools used in this occupation:Various motor vehiclesGPSCell phonesTabletTechnology used in this occupation:Sponsor's automated dispatch systemGPSInternetQualificationsPossess a valid driver's licensePossess a clean driving recordClean Driving Record Definition: TSC drivers, both staff and contractors, must meet the following criteria, at a minimum, before operating Sponsor controlled vehicles:Negative point accumulation is not to exceed minus four (-4) pointsZero (0) driving suspensions or revocationsZero (0) incidents of serious motor vehicle violation, including, but not limited, to driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs; reckless driving; leaving the scene of an accident, or a series of convictions that reflect a pattern of unsafe behaviorHas not been assigned to any alcohol safety action program or driver alcohol rehabilitation programHas not been assigned to any driver improvement programsExperience:A minimum of two (2) years of driving experience to include at least 6 months of experience driving passenger shuttles or charter busses.Education:High School diploma or equivalent.Special Certifications:Possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with "P" (passenger) endorsement issued through the Department of Motor Vehicles (OMV) of the MVO's state of legal residence.Must provide a yearly DOT card update.Willingness to obtain training and certification to drive and assist disabled passengers being transported in specially equipped vehicles (ADA in the Workplace).
