NANA Construction is seeking a skilled and dependable diesel mechanic to support civil construction projects in remote Alaska. This role requires hands-on experience repairing a wide range of heavy equipment, performing general labor tasks, and maintaining equipment in demanding environments. Candidates must be comfortable working long hours in remote locations, in extreme weather conditions, and team-oriented job sites.

• Repair heavy equipment including but not limited to:
  • Semi trucks
  • Tractor trailers
  • Excavators
  • Wheel loaders
  • Haul trucks and dump trucks
  • Dozers
  • Graders
  • Skid steers
  • Fork lifts
  • Telehandlers
  • Aggregate processing equipment
  • Barges & Tug Boats
• Fabricate parts to support operations
• Assist marine operations
• Assist gravel pit operations
• Assist crews install culverts, underground utilities, construct roads and runways.
• Other duties as assigned

• Perform daily equipment inspections.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized worksite.
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA standards, DOT regulations, MSHA regulations, and site-specific requirements.
• Work safely in extreme weather and uneven terrain.
• Immediately report all Incidents/Accidents, no matter how small, to their Supervisor.
• Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum (3) year experience repairing a broad range of semi trucks and heavy equipment.
• Forklift Certification required (or able to obtain upon employment).
• Degree in Automotive and Diesel Technology
• Mechanical aptitude and equipment repair experience.
• Class A CDL and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a crew in remote locations.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and adaptability to changing site conditions.
• Civil construction, road construction, or utility installation experience
• Remote or camp-based work experience preferred.

The employee must regularly lift, move and /or carry up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. Steel toed boots required on the job.
