POSITION:  Assistant Superintendent of Finance
REPORTS TO:  Superintendent
SCHEDULE:  12-Month (25 vacation, 15 leave, & 12 holidays)
LOCATION:  BECC, 125 South Church St, Brighton, MI 48116
STARTING DATE:  August 3, 2026
RATE OF PAY:  $159,869 (+5.8% merit stipends and 5% TSA)
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Brighton Area Schools is seeking an experienced and collaborative candidate to lead the district's business department.  This individual will be responsible for planning for and implementation of the district's $128 million budget, departmental leadership, systems management, compliance, and financial oversight of district operations.  The district's business office consists of a director of accounting, a payroll specialist, a fringe benefits specialist, and an accounts payable specialist.
DISTRICT FINANCIAL PROFILE:
  - Student Enrollment - 10,325 (Projected 2026-27 enrollment including shared-time)
  - Staff - Approximately 1,293 (Includes shared-time staffing)
  - Annual budget - $127,728,900
  - Fund balance - $21,674,259
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  1.) Master's degree in business, accounting, or another related field
  2.) A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a leader within a Michigan public school district's business department:
               a.) District assistant superintendent or executive director in the area of business. OR
               b.) Accountant, supervisor, or other administrative level position within a district's business department.
  3.) MSBO current Chief Financial Officer certificate preferred
