While they are not federal employees, they must adhere to TSA protocols and security standards. Their roles vary depending on the contract and can involve working at airports, office locations, or remotely.

What does a TSA contractor do?

A typical day for a TSA Contractor involves conducting security screenings, monitoring passenger activity, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations at transportation facilities such as airports. Contractors often collaborate closely with TSA agents, supervisors, and other security personnel to promptly address incidents and maintain the safety of all travelers. Depending on the assignment, you may also be responsible for operating scanning equipment, preparing incident reports, and participating in regular security briefings or trainings. The dynamic environment means that adaptability and teamwork are essential in this role, as responsibilities can shift based on evolving security needs.
