Primary Role Expectations:

  • Utilize tools to assemble building material components, including positioning of materials, clamping, splicing and fitting parts in accordance with specifications.
  • Place metal reinforcement plates over connecting joints and connect parts at joints using a hammer.
  • Verify dimensions of precut parts and accuracy of assembly.
  • Properly mark truss ID and band bunks of finished product.
  • Operate machinery, including forklifts, for material handling and transportation.
  • Handle materials safely and effectively, ensuring proper storage and organization within the warehouse.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet established standards.
  • Maintain and clean equipment and work area, keeping racks clear as trusses are produced.
  • Routinely clean to maintain clean equipment and work area.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when operating saws and handling materials; including but not limited to wearing required PPE and following all lock-out-tag-out procedures.
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including ability to work overtime.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • One year truss table experience or equivalent work history.
  • Ability to read a measuring tape and use a hammer.
  • Ability to read and understand simple diagrams or blueprints.
  • Ability to recognize size grade and quality of material.
  • Ability to drive a forklift with onsite training.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong ability to work effectively with diverse individuals from management to floor employees.
  • Strong communication skills, reasoning, and mathematical skills.
  • Regular and punctual attendance is essential to the successful execution of this role to maintain team productivity and collaboration. Employees are expected to adhere to the assigned work schedule.

Physical Requirements:

  • Perform the position's physical functions with extensive mobility and ease including walking, sitting, standing, bending, talking, hearing, seeing, and using hands to operate tools necessary for the job.
  • This position requires frequent and repetitive lifting of 25lbs and occasional lifting or moving up to 60lbs.
  • While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, sawdust, and outside weather conditions.
  • Cut lumber is frequently stored in carts designed to carry heavy loads, employees must be able to push/pull carts with initial movement of 45lbs - 80lbs of force; as loads may weigh up to 100lbs.
  • Must be able to repetitively swing a hammer periodically throughout shift, involving consistent arm movement and force application.

Salary Description
$16 - $17/ hour (increase based upon experience)
