Job Description

CNBC is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Associate Producer with a passion for storytelling to join our growing digital video team. 

This role calls for a creative producer and skilled editor with a strong interest in visual storytelling, business news, and in-depth analysis of markets and politics. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of the American political system and the broader business landscape and is excited about transforming original reporting into compelling digital video content. 

The Associate Producer will collaborate closely with reporters, producers and senior producers to craft sharp scripts and engaging videos, often on tight deadlines. Strong editorial judgment, writing ability, and editing skills are essential. 

This position covers a range of content, including reporter-led news analysis, breaking news, and daily reporting, and the opportunities to contribute to mid-form investigative and documentary-style projects. Success in this role requires curiosity, a critical lens on news coverage, and an ability to identify stories that resonate with CNBC’s audience. 

The ideal candidate is collaborative, adaptable, and eager to help elevate video storytelling across platforms. Candidates should have at least one year of professional experience shooting and scripting video for a digital news organization, be comfortable behind the camera, and have a strong command of Adobe Premiere. Experience with After Effects is a plus.

Responsibilities: 

  • Produce, script, and edit high-quality business news videos in collaboration with reporters 
  • Support video production through editing and shooting, both in studio and in the field 
  • Operate DSLR and cinema cameras to film short- and long-form content with CNBC talent 
  • Collaborate with digital video team members to deliver content on tight deadlines 
  • Incorporate feedback from senior producers, editors, and stakeholders 
  • Stay current on news trends to help identify timely video opportunities 
  • Ensure editorial accuracy and adherence to CNBC standards

  • At least 1 year of experience in digital video production, including shooting, editing, lighting, and scripting 
  • Proficiency with cinema cameras and/or DSLR systems (Sony, Canon, Panasonic) and Adobe Premiere 
  • Script and/or voice-over writing experience 
  • Understanding of multimedia storytelling and online publishing systems 
  • Strong collaboration, creativity, and communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities; comfortable working under tight deadlines 
  • Ability to lift, carry, and transport 40lbs of production equipment 
  • Portfolio or work samples required (please include links) 
  • Strong interest in innovative video storytelling and social media strategy 
  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours and travel when needed 
  • Broad knowledge of current events, business, financial, and technology news 
  • A sample of the candidate's work will be required
