What is a True Value Hardware?

A True Value Hardware job typically involves working in a retail hardware store, assisting customers with home improvement products, tools, and supplies. Employees may help with sales, stocking shelves, operating registers, and offering advice on hardware needs. Some positions include managerial roles, warehouse operations, or specialized sales in areas like plumbing or electrical. True Value stores are often independently owned, so job responsibilities can vary by location.

A typical day at True Value Hardware involves assisting customers in finding the right products, handling sales transactions using point-of-sale systems, restocking shelves, and maintaining store cleanliness. Team members may also answer questions about product usage, process special orders, or help with inventory counts. Collaboration with coworkers is common, especially during busy periods or when managing larger projects like store resets. Employees gain valuable experience in customer service, product knowledge, and teamwork, which can open doors to supervisory or specialist roles in the future.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the True Value Hardware position, and why are they important?

To excel in a True Value Hardware position, you need a solid understanding of hardware products, retail operations, and customer service, often gained through previous retail experience or on-the-job training. Strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative attitude help employees succeed in a fast-paced environment. These skills are vital for delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining store efficiency, and contributing positively to the overall team.

Job description

General Duties

Come, Disrupt and Thrive.

Enterprise Sales / Business Development Representative

Location: Hybrid (Salt Lake City, Utah based territory)

We’re looking for a true hunter—but not just a closer. This is for someone who can break into net-new accounts and turn those wins into long-term, revenue-generating partnerships.

This role is about more than transactions. It’s about building something that compounds over time. It's about turning the solutions you've created for one client, into a success story to be conveyed to the next client.

About the Role

As an Enterprise Sales / Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for identifying, targeting, and closing new business opportunities while building and managing your own book of business.

This is not a “one-and-done” sales role. The expectation is that you win accounts and grow them—creating repeat business, expanding relationships, and becoming a trusted partner to your clients.

Success in this role means you can both open the door and stay in the room.

What You’ll Do

  • Break into net-new enterprise accounts through outbound prospecting, networking, and strategic outreach
  • Own the full sales cycle: discovery, qualification, presentation, negotiation, and close
  • Build, manage, and grow a book of business, driving both initial wins and long-term revenue expansion
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships that lead to repeat and continuous business
  • Engage with C-level and senior decision-makers, navigating complex buying environments
  • Apply structured sales frameworks (e.g., MEDDICC) to qualify and advance opportunities
  • Consistently overcome objections and push deals forward with persistence and professionalism
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to deepen relationships and expand within existing clients
  • Partner internally to ensure successful delivery and a high-quality client experience

What You Bring

  • Proven track record of enterprise sales success, with a strong hunter mentality
  • Demonstrated ability to open new accounts and grow them over time
  • Experience managing and expanding a book of business, not just closing one-time deals
  • Clear history of grit, resilience, and overcoming objections in complex sales cycles
  • Strong relationship management skills—you know how to earn trust and keep it
  • Familiarity with strategic sales methodologies such as MEDDICC (or similar)
  • Ability to balance new business development with account growth and retention
  • Exceptional communication and executive-level presentation skills
  • High level of personal accountability, internal drive and personal core values that align with our own: (People First, Integrity, Growth, Accountability, Respect, Continuous Improvement)

What Sets You Apart

  • You don’t just win business—you keep it and grow it
  • You understand that the real value is in long-term relationships, not one-time transactions
  • You’re as strong in account management and trust-building as you are in prospecting and closing
  • You bring structure to complex sales while staying relentless in execution

Why This Role

  • High-impact role with direct influence on company growth
  • Opportunity to build and own a meaningful, compounding book of business
  • Autonomy to operate like an entrepreneur within a growing organization
  • A team that values performance, accountability, and continuous improvement

Available Benefits:

  • Medical Benefits (Platinum level plans available)
  • Hybrid work environment
  • PTO
  • Holiday Pay
  • VTO
  • 401K
  • Charitable Match
  • Training reimbursement
