How much do trucker hourly jobs pay per week?

As of Jun 12, 2026, the average weekly pay for trucker hourly in the United States is $1,523.83, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $1,182.69 and $1,730.77 per week, depending on experience, location, and employer.

Does Walmart offer $110,000 salary to new drivers?

Walmart does not typically offer new truck drivers a $110,000 salary; starting pay for new drivers is generally lower and increases with experience, mileage, and performance. Experienced drivers with additional skills or specialized routes may earn higher wages, but such salaries are not standard for new hires.

What are trucker hourly jobs?

Trucker hourly jobs are positions where truck drivers are paid based on the number of hours they work instead of the miles they drive or per delivery. These jobs often involve local or regional routes, with drivers returning home daily or frequently. Hourly truckers may handle tasks such as loading and unloading freight, completing paperwork, and ensuring timely deliveries. This pay structure can provide more predictable income and may include overtime pay for additional hours worked. Hourly positions are common in industries needing regular, short-haul transportation.

What are some common challenges truckers paid hourly might face compared to those paid per mile?

Truckers paid hourly often experience different challenges than those paid per mile, such as fluctuating work hours and potential downtime waiting for loads, which can impact their overall earnings. While hourly pay can provide more predictable income during delays or loading/unloading, drivers may need to adapt to flexible schedules and varying routes. It's also important to communicate effectively with dispatchers and maintain accurate time logs to ensure proper compensation. Building strong relationships with your team and staying organized are key to managing these challenges successfully.

What is the difference between Trucker Hourly vs Delivery Driver Hourly?

AspectTrucker HourlyDelivery Driver Hourly
CredentialsCommercial Driver's License (CDL)Driver's license (varies by vehicle)
Work EnvironmentLong-haul or regional trucking, often in trucks or tractor-trailersLocal or regional delivery, often in vans or small trucks
Industry UsageFreight transportation, logisticsPackage, food, or retail delivery

Trucker hourly roles typically require a CDL and involve long-distance freight transport, while delivery driver hourly roles focus on local deliveries with standard driver's licenses. Both jobs operate within the transportation industry but differ in work environment and scope.

How much do truckers get paid per hour?

Truckers typically earn between $15 and $25 per hour, depending on experience, location, and the type of freight they transport. Overtime, long-haul routes, and specialized skills can increase hourly pay. Many truckers also receive additional compensation for driving in certain conditions or during off-hours.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Trucker Hourly, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Trucker Hourly, you need a valid commercial driver's license (CDL), strong driving skills, and a solid understanding of road safety regulations. Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), GPS navigation systems, and basic vehicle maintenance is highly beneficial. Dependability, attention to detail, and effective communication help drivers manage schedules and interact professionally with clients and dispatchers. These skills and qualities ensure safe, efficient, and reliable delivery of goods while complying with legal and company requirements.

What company in Texas is paying truckers $14000 a week?

There are no widely verified companies that pay truckers $14,000 a week. Such high earnings are uncommon and may be associated with specialized or owner-operator roles that involve long hours, high mileage, or specific freight types. Trucking jobs typically pay based on mileage, experience, and the type of cargo transported.

What is the 7 3 rule in trucking?

The 7-3 rule in trucking refers to a driving schedule where drivers spend 7 hours on duty and then take a 3-hour break, helping to manage fatigue and comply with hours-of-service regulations. It emphasizes the importance of rest periods to maintain safety and alertness during long hauls.
