SUMMARY

Weโ€™re seeking an experienced truck dispatcher with a strong background in Commercial Commodities (freight like: Retail goods, consumer products, food and beverage, industrial supplies, building materials, electronics, packaged freight) and Household goods (both would advantageous).
As a Dispatcher you will be the primary point-of-contact for company and contract drivers, playing a crucial role in on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction. , excellent relationship-building skills, and the ability to multiโ€‘task and perform under pressure. If you take pride in turning complex schedules into smooth, efficient routes, this is the role for you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner with Planners to develop efficient driver routes and schedules for commercial and household goods.

Dispatch and coordinate company and contract drivers in real time; offer routing options to maximize productivity and onโ€‘time performance.

Locate and assign available agents and labor resources for incoming shipments and special-handling requests.

Communicate with customers and coordinators to confirm pickup/delivery details, special requirements, and service expectations.

Prepare and maintain dispatch documentation, and generate freight bills and invoices accurately and on time.

Maintain detailed logs of dispatched calls, route changes, arrivals, pickups, and deliveries.

Monitor truck repairs and maintenance schedules; log customer shipping schedules and record complaints for follow-up.

Work with the Agency Safety Rep to ensure driver compliance with DOT regulations, company safety policies, and accurate driver logs.

Proactively troubleshoot delays, breakdowns, or service exceptions and escalate when necessary.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED required; Associateโ€™s or Bachelorโ€™s in Transportation/Logistics preferred.

2โ€“3+ years of truck dispatch experience, ideally with both commercial and household goods.

Demonstrated ability to create efficient routes, schedule drivers, and manage multiple operations simultaneously.

Strong customer service experience and proven ability to generate accurate freight bills and invoices.

Experience with Transportation Management Software (TMS) and GPS/tracking systems.

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
