Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure

TRM Labs is a blockchain intelligence company committed to fighting crime and creating a safer world. As a Senior Software Engineer at TRM Labs, you will collaborate with an experienced team of data scientists, engineers, and product managers to design and build scalable infrastructure for TRM's products and services. You will be deeply involved in the technical details of building highly available infrastructure and ultimately work to build a safer financial system for billions of people.

The impact youโ€™ll have here:
  • Developing software and tooling to facilitate greater automation, support, maintenance, and operability of services.
  • Use data to understand the availability, reliability, and sustainability of our infrastructure.
  • Actively engage in systems hardening and compliance (e.g., SOC2, FedRAMP).
  • Work with product and engineering leadership to set strategy, priorities, and mission for the Infrastructure team.
What weโ€™re looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a role working with AWS and/or GCP IaaS services eg. compute, object storage, iam, vpc, load balancing. Experience with Airflow, GKE, EKS, Big Query, is a plus.
  • Highly proficient with modern Unix/Linux operating systems/distributions, preferably CentOS & Alpine
  • Experience with CI/CD, containers and/or virtualization, web servers, and databases.
  • Experience defining SLOs/SLIs and implementing monitoring, alerting, and runbooks.
  • Experience with Terraform, Airflow, GKE, EKS, Kubernetes and BigQuery.
  • Adaptable. Goals can change fast. You anticipate and react quickly.
  • Autonomous. You own what you work on. You move fast and get things done.
  • Excellent communication. You will need communicate complex ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, and both verbally and in writing.
  • Collaborative. You must work collaboratively in a cross-functional team and with people at all levels in an organization.
About TRM's Engineering Levels:Engineer: Responsible for helping to define project milestones and executing small decisions independently with the appropriate tradeoffs between simplicity, readability, and performance. Provides mentorship to junior engineers, and enhances operational excellence through tech debt reduction and knowledge sharing.
Senior Engineer: Successfully designs and documents system improvements and features for an OKR/project from the ground up. Consistently delivers efficient and reusable systems, optimizes team throughput with appropriate tradeoffs, mentors team members, and enhances cross-team collaboration through documentation and knowledge sharing.
Staff Engineer: Drives scoping and execution of one or more OKRs/projects that impact multiple teams. Partners with stakeholders to set the team vision and technical roadmaps for one or more products. Is a role model and mentor to the entire engineering organization. Ensures system health and quality with operational reviews, testing strategies, and monitoring rigor.
Compensation:
  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $190,000 - $221,000.
  • Additionally, this role may be eligible to participate in TRMโ€™s equity plan.
