The Senior Center Coordinator at Anderson Mill Limited District is responsible for the daily planning,

coordination, and execution of Senior Center programs. The coordinator ensures that activities are

engaging, safe, appropriate, and align with the policies, code of conduct, and mission. This role

involves collaboration with administrative staff, members, and emergency contacts on occasion to ensure

a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment for members. Current hours are M-F, 10am - 2pm. This

position is required to work 5 days per week.


Essential Job Functions and Duties:

  • Answer phones, greet members and visitors, provide excellent customer service, and communicate information regarding Senior Center activities and facility usage.
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead senior activities and special programs including Exercise Classes, Trivia, Bingo, Potlucks, Finger Food Fridays, Movie Days, Tech Tuesdays, and other activities.
  • Monitor and track member attendance and program participation.
  • Open, operate, and close the facility as assigned, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and organized environment for members and guests.
  • Assist with setup, breakdown, and room preparation.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and communicate needs to the Programs & Events Supervisor and District Manager.
  • Perform routine cleaning and ensure the facility remains clean, safe, and presentable throughout operating hours.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for all members and staff.
  • Respond appropriately to member concerns and emergency situations in accordance with established procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Programs & Events Supervisor or District Manager.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while exercising sound judgment in daily operations and member interactions.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English clearly and communicate effectively, professionally, and cordially with the public and District staff.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check prior to employment.
  • Must be able to take a First Aid and CPR/AED certification course if not already certified.
  • Mobility to move to and from various points within the district; ability to produce information in written form and operate office equipment (including computers, calculators, and copiers); ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
