Job description

Heavy Equipment Mechanic โ€“ Keep Fleet Operations Running smoothly Across the Southeast


Job Overview

  • Company: Trinity Industrial Services.
  • Salary/Pay Rate: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour (Based on Experience).
  • Location: Primary shop location with occasional travel to project sites throughout the Southeast.
  • Job/Employment Type: Full-Time.
  • Schedule: Monday โ€“ Friday, 7:00 AM โ€“ 3:30 PM (Overtime as needed).
  • Mandatory Licences & Certifications: Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.


The Opportunity

You will play a critical role in minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring safe field operations across multiple high-stakes projects. This position gives you the autonomy to manage complex mechanical overhauls in a dedicated shop while occasionally hitting the road to save the day on active jobsites. How You Will Make An Impact

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy construction equipment and support vehicles.
  • Perform preventive maintenance services including fluid changes, lubrication, and routine inspections.
  • Repair and maintain complex hydraulic systems, cylinders, pumps, motors, hoses, and fittings.
  • Troubleshoot diesel engine, electrical, charging, and fuel system issues to optimize uptime.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and minor structural repairs on equipment and attachments.
  • Maintain accurate equipment records, maintenance logs, inspection reports, and repair documentation.
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections and quality checks on machinery before jobsite deployment.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional heavy equipment mechanic experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of hydraulic systems and diesel-powered equipment.
  • Proven ability to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel system issues.
  • Demonstrated experience using diagnostic tools and technical repair manuals.
  • Ability to accurately read equipment schematics and technical documentation.
  • Physical capacity to lift 50+ pounds and perform demanding manual labor daily.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in shop and field environments.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Advanced welding and metal fabrication experience.
  • Experience servicing Takeuchi, CAT, Bobcat, John Deere, Kubota, JLG, Genie, or SkyTrak machinery.
  • Practical knowledge of DOT inspection processes and standards.
  • Active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience maintaining large construction, demolition, or industrial equipment fleets.
