About the Role

The Senior Director, Sales & Marketing is a senior commercial leader responsible for accelerating U.S. revenue growth, market penetration, and commercial capability build-out in a high-growth new energy business.

This role combines strategic ownership and operational execution, leading regional sales and marketing teams while building a scalable, disciplined commercial engine. The position plays a critical role in bridging U.S. market dynamics with global (Asia-based) strategy, ensuring alignment, speed, and execution excellence.

Scope & Impact

  • Organization scope: Regional Sales, Marketing, and Sales Operations
  • Market focus: Energy Storage (ESS), EV, Battery, Industrial Energy Solutions
  • Mandate: Drive revenue + build capability + scale commercial infrastructure

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Revenue Growth & Market Expansion
  • Own and deliver regional revenue targets and market share growth
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans across OEMs, utilities, EPCs, and integrators
  • Identify and capture new market opportunities in ESS, EV, and energy transition sectors
  • Build long-term customer partnerships and ecosystem influence
  1. Sales Leadership & Team Performance
  • Lead and scale a high-performing regional commercial team
  • Establish clear performance metrics, pipeline rigor, and accountability culture
  • Upgrade team capability in complex sales, deal execution, and customer engagement

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
  • 10-15+ years of progressive experience in Sales, Marketing, or Commercial Leadership
  • Proven track record of delivering revenue growth in a $300M-$500M scale business
  • Strong experience in B2B technical / industrial sales environments
  • Demonstrated capability in sales operations, forecasting, and pipeline management
  • Experience operating in high-growth, fast-changing environments
  • Strong leadership, executive communication, and stakeholder alignment skills

Industry Experience (Required)

  • Direct experience in New Energy / Energy Storage / EV / Battery / Power Systems
  • Strong preference for candidates from or with exposure to:
    • Tesla

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mandarin Chinese proficiency, or
