Job Overview

Deloury Construction Company Inc is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Surveyor to join our Field Operations team. This role is critical to ensuring precision and accuracy across residential, commercial, and industrial sitework projects throughout Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.

The ideal candidate will bring 7+ years of field layout experience, strong proficiency in AutoCAD, and hands-on expertise with Trimble machine control systems. This position plays a vital role in supporting project managers and field crews by delivering accurate layout, staking, machine control models, and as-built documentation to keep projects on track and within specification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform site surveys for civil construction projects using GPS and total station equipment
  • Provide accurate field layout, staking, and grade verification
  • Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot Trimble machine control models and job files
  • Generate, update, and interpret CAD drawings to support field operations
  • Collaborate with project managers and field crews to ensure proper execution of plans
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and grading plans
  • Collect and maintain accurate as-built data
  • Ensure data integrity, quality control, and adherence to safety standards
  • Assist with coordination between office engineering and field operations

Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 7+ years of field layout experience in heavy civil construction
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson, or equivalent required)
  • Extensive experience with Trimble GPS and machine control systems (required)
  • Strong working knowledge of total stations and GPS equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and specifications
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license
