Job Description

Position: QA Automation engineer 

Location: Richardson, TX

Duration: 3-6 Months +

Sr. Test Analyst for VIDEO (DPI/Plant) TEAM 

Develop and execute software test plans/test cases for a DPI/Plant Application on AS/400 IBM mainframe in order to identify software problems and their causes. Analysis to determine how facilities can best be utilized to complete service orders. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Write/review and approve test plans, test scenarios and test cases. Review documentation of software defects and assign software developers to investigate and resolve the issue. Review and approve test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates. Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance or completeness or to mitigate risks. Participate in feasibility to deployment of a product which includes review to provide input on functional requirements, schedules, and/or potential issues. 


Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: 

A. Investigate new facility service orders ("facility check/verification") to determine facility availability. Order Assignments and validate in provisioning systems (Triad and TC). Order Assignment include copper, FiOS and legacy systems. 

B. Sketch outside plant conditions as required (i.e., conduit, feed stops, and estimated footage). 

C. Assign facilities for service orders. Assign cable pairs, terminal information and port. 

D. Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends. 

Education/Experience: Prefer Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or relevant field required. Minimal 4-5 years' experience required. 

Responsibility Level: Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor. 

Additional Required Skills: 

Experience with HP Quality Center/Application Lifecycle Management for Test Case Creation, Test Case Execution and Defect Tracking, Test case Traceability, Requirement Traceability. 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. Business Knowledge of Telecom Domain and Frontier application is preferred. 

Strong ability to work independently and work with the team and manage one's time. 

Strong knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications. 

Strong knowledge of computer development software, such as Microsoft Visual Basic, SQL, Plan view, Excel, Jira, Agile methodology and experience with AS/400 is a must/preferred. 

Experience of ordering system (CRM, Sterling) and provisioning system (Triad). Knowledge of Media room and network element Preferred.
