Manages the administrative activities of the mammography film library, transcription, reception, secretarial, and clerical support functions within the radiology department. Also, manages other related systems and processes within the radiology file room, transcription, and scheduling.
Performs a variety of technical radiological procedures using standard, and/or specialized x-ray equipment to apply prescribed ionization radiation in order to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients' illnesses and injuries. Performs related tasks such as assisting patients in positioning for correct anatomical exposure, maintaining order and cleanliness of work area and performing routine tasks.
Overseas all aspects of Quality Assurance within the Radiology department at Tri River. Directs and monitors Quality Assurance procedures for all Radiologists providing services to patients at Tri River.

I. Major Responsibilities:

1. Directs and supervises assigned personnel including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training. Makes recommendations on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. Resolves grievances and other personnel problems within position responsibilities.
2. Directs all aspects of Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) Quality Assurance for the Tri River radiology department.
3. Assures the implementation of and compliance with all State and Federal regulations regarding Mammography (MQSA) as well as other areas of diagnostic imaging.
4. Assures that the Tri River mammography program retains its accreditation with the American College of Radiology.
5. Oversees state and federal mandated annual physics surveys. Assures compliance with all aspects of state and federal mandated Quality Assurance procedures regarding radiologists, technologists, radiographic equipment troubleshooting, fixer retention testing, and darkroom safelight testing.

II. Position Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Library Science, Medical Records, or related field preferred. Five years of related work experience is required. Demonstrated leadership ability, initiative, teamwork and assertiveness. Excellent communication skills, (both verbal and written). Registered and licensed in Radiologic Technology and Mammography is required.

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listedin this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
