Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced ISA Certified Sales Arborist to support continued growth within a professional tree care and arboricultural services organization. This role combines arboricultural expertise with a consultative, relationship-driven sales approach across residential and commercial clients.

The Sales Arborist is responsible for generating new business, evaluating tree care needs, and developing clear, professional recommendations. This is a primarily field-based, client-facing role, with the majority of time spent meeting with clients at project sites and managing a consistent pipeline of opportunities.

Duties

Sales & Business Development

  • Generate new business through networking, referrals, and proactive outreach within the service area
  • Conduct initial client consultations to evaluate needs and identify project opportunities
  • Meet with clients on-site to assess tree health, risk, and service requirements
  • Develop and present detailed proposals outlining scope, pricing, and recommended services
  • Maintain a consistent pipeline of opportunities to achieve sales goals
  • Build long-term client relationships that drive repeat business and referrals

Client Management & Project Coordination

  • Serve as the primary point of contact from initial consultation through project completion
  • Perform site evaluations and tree diagnostics aligned with industry best practices
  • Translate approved proposals into clear work orders for field crews
  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to client expectations
  • Conduct site visits as needed during active work to maintain quality and client satisfaction
  • Address client questions, concerns, and follow-up needs in a timely and professional manner

Operational Alignment & Compliance

  • Identify permitting requirements and coordinate as needed with internal or external stakeholders
  • Ensure all recommendations align with current arboricultural standards and company practices
  • Partner with field leadership and operations staff for seamless project execution
  • Contribute feedback on process improvements, customer experience, and market opportunities

Skills

  • ISA Certified Arborist required (must be maintained during employment)
  • TRAQ certification preferred or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe
  • Demonstrated experience in arboriculture, tree care, or urban forestry
  • Proven success in client-facing roles, including sales, consulting, or account management
  • Strong ability to build trust and maintain professional relationships
  • Experience preparing proposals, estimates, or project scopes
