Carr’s Tree Service is seeking motivated, safety-conscious Crew Members to support daily tree care operations. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, being part of a team, and taking pride in physical, hands-on work performed safely and professionally.

Primary Responsibilities of a Crew:

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Participate in daily job briefings and safety meetings.
  • Identify and communicate potential job site hazards to crew leadership.

Tree Care Operations

  • Assist with tree pruning, trimming, and removal operations.
  • Support ground operations including brush chipping, brush mowing, chainsaw work, and site cleanup.
  • Assist with stump grinding and debris removal.
  • Support emergency tree services such as storm damage response.

Climbing & Rigging Support

  • Assist climbers and arborists with rigging systems and aerial operations.
  • Help stage equipment and materials for safe and efficient tree work.

Equipment Operation & Maintenance

  • Safely operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, pole saws, wood chippers, and brush mowers (based on training and experience).
  • Inspect equipment daily and report mechanical or safety concerns to crew leadership.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in clean, working condition.

Customer & Public Interaction

  • Interact professionally with property owners, municipal officials, and the public.
  • Follow direction from crew leadership when working on customer or municipal properties.
  • Represent Carr’s Tree Service with professionalism and respect at all times.

Teamwork & Development

  • Work cooperatively with crew members and leadership to complete jobs efficiently.
  • Be willing to learn new skills and accept coaching and feedback.
  • Contribute to a positive, productive team environment.

Crew Member Qualifications:

Required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (as determined by insurance).
  • Ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Reliable, safety-oriented, and able to work well within a team.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job and work in all weather conditions.

Desired

  • CDL Class A license.
  • MN Pesticide Spray License Class A-J.
  • EHAP (line voltage recognition) training.
  • ISA Certification or ability to obtain.
  • Degree in Forestry or a related field.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift, carry, push, pull, and drag up to 80 lbs.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Work at heights up to 60 feet.
  • Work near or under energized power lines.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks in temperatures ranging from 90°F to -25°F.
  • Work in adverse weather conditions and environments.
  • Safely operate vehicles and equipment in accordance with DOT, OSHA, ANSI, and manufacturer regulations.
