Climbing Arborist

Columbus, OH

Wright’s Tree Service is currently growing and must expand our team! We are searching for a full-time Climbing Arborist who would be an integral member of our Trim Crew with primary responsibilities to efficiently perform tree trimming, removal, and related arboricultural services on residential and commercial properties.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and/or GED required
  • 2+ years of tree climbing experience
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record are required; CDL is a plus!
  • Both written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions; ability to lift 50lbs, occasionally up to 75lbs

Responsibilities:

  • Climbs, prunes, and removes trees using approved arboricultural techniques
  • Operates and maintains a variety of tree care equipment including chainsaws, brush clippers, loaders, stump grinders, and aerial lifts
  • Hoists tools and equipment to other climbers and safely lower branches and logs using ropes and rigging systems
  • Maintains and inspects all tools, ropes, and climbing equipment for safety and performance and alerts supervisors of maintenance issues in a timely manner
  • Assists with ground operations, including debris removal, wood hauling, and site cleanup
  • Ensures all safety protocols and ANSI/OSHA standards are always followed
  • Maintains professional communication with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow
  • Identifies tree defects, pest, or disease issues, and communicates findings to supervisors or certified arborists
  • Participates in company training programs, safety meetings, and certifications are required
  • Upholds company standards of customer service and represents Wright’s Tree Service with professionalism
  • Drives company vehicles responsibly and ensures they remain clean and well-maintained
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
