Landscape Account Manager

Business Resources One

Sudbury, MA

$70K - $100K/yr

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, PTO

Re-posted 22 days ago

Job description

Our client is a premier, full-service landscape company based in the Metro West Boston area (Sudbury/Wayland), with over 40 years of history serving high-end residential properties. As one of the largest landscape providers in Massachusetts, they combine the resources and stability of a regional leader with a distinct "white glove" service approach. This is an opportunity to join a growing team that values career advancement, offering a collaborative culture where employees are supported by specialized divisions in design, tree care, irrigation, and plant health care.

The Landscape Account Manager acts as the primary liaison between high-touch residential clients and the field operations team. Unlike traditional account management roles where sales and operations are siloed, this position offers full ownership: you will manage your own dedicated field crews while driving sales and client satisfaction. Reporting to the Landscape Division Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of premier properties, ensuring quality control, selling enhancement services, and maintaining long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the main point of contact for a portfolio of high-end residential clients, providing expert consultation and ensuring complete satisfaction.
  • Sales & Business Development: Drive revenue by selling enhancement services (design/build, drainage, fine gardening) and renewing annual maintenance contracts.
  • Field Operations Management: Directly supervise and schedule dedicated field crews, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the company’s high quality standards.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular site visits to monitor property conditions, proactively identify issues, and propose solutions before the client asks.
  • Cross-Department Coordination: Collaborate with specialized internal divisions (Tree, Irrigation, Design) to execute comprehensive property care plans.
  • Financial Oversight: Ensure project profitability and assist with receivables/collections when necessary.
  • Snow Operations: Participate in winter snow and ice management operations as a salaried leader (plowing or operational management required).

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on professional landscape experience; prior experience in account management or crew leadership is highly preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of horticulture, landscape maintenance best practices, and enhancement design.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with industry software (Aspire experience is a major plus) and general tech-savviness; this is a nearly paperless environment.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage demanding, high-net-worth clientele.
  • Licensing: A valid Driver’s License is required.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture or a related field is preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $70,000 – $100,000 Base Salary (Dependent on experience).
  • Commission: Significant commission structure on sold enhancements, new business, and contract renewals.
  • Company Vehicle: Take-home vehicle provided.
  • Retirement: 401(k) with immediate company match.
  • Healthcare: Comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision insurance.
  • Additional Perks: FSA, HRA, PTO, and paid holidays.
