We are seeking experienced Arborist Climbers who have a passion for preserving and caring for trees.

Position Title: Arborist Climber

Number of Positions: 2

Pay Rate: $36.80/hr - $38.00/hr based on experience

Job type: Full time, permanent, 40 hours per week

Job Location: 586 Third Line,  Oakville ON L6L 4A7

 May be required to travel outside of the immediate Oakvill area as part of the role.

Responsibilities

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform all required ground, climbing, and aerial lift duties in support of specific job assignments, as directed by crew leader
  • Demonstrate high safety standards, sound tree risk assessment skills, equipment inspection skills, proper application of approved knots, proper climbing techniques and procedures, proper pruning and small removal skills, and proper rigging skills
  • Assist with driving, backing, dumping and parking duties as required
  • Learn, understand, and adhere to all safety rules and company safety policies and participate in safety training sessions
  • Maintain assigned company gear and equipment
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills with crew members and crew leader
  • Responsible for carrying out other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader or designated supervisor, Arborist Representative, or Local Manager
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience climbing with arborist approved climbing system and bucket operation in the tree care industry.
  • Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record (MVR).
  • Secondary school required
  • Formal training or qualifications in chainsaw maintenance and cutting, aerial cutting using chainsaw and felling and processing trees required
  • Degree or Diploma in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management, Environmental Science or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in English language
