Job Purpose & Scope

The Treasury Management Sales Associate is responsible for providing support to Treasury Management Sales Officers (TMSO) by assisting throughout the treasury sales cycle. This role partners with Sales Officers to provide treasury solutions in a consultative manner while incorporating a keen awareness of risk and a client focused perspective. Focus is on generating additional non-interest income and growing balances by providing TM solutions to our clients.


Essential Job Functions
  1. Works with existing clients and prospects in order to develop new treasury management business and to maintain existing business with our treasury clients.

  2. Develops and prepares treasury responses to RFPs, reviews and presentations, as appropriate.

  3. Prepares documentation required for new and existing treasury clients.

  4. Performs timely follow-up on newly implemented treasury services to ensure we meet the client’s needs.

  5. Develops a good understanding of all sales tools and pricing options.

  6. Participates in any pre-call planning.

  7. Performs follow up after client calls.

  8. Develops and maintains relationships with key clients.

  9. Develops awareness of local competition and market pricing for treasury services.

  10. Maintains an awareness of trends and new developments in the field of treasury management through attendance at trade shows and related seminars.

  11. As defined with the business, analyzes, evaluates and mitigates operational, regulatory, credit, and reputational risk.

  12. Understands the client’s business and their specific needs.

  13. Exercises discretion and sound judgment in the performance of these and other essential job functions.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  1. Strong attention to detail.

  2. Ability to interact with all levels in a client environment.

  3. Willingness and ability to develop increasing responsibilities.

  4. Ability to write responses to RFPs. Very good communications skills are required.

  5. Team player while operating in an individual contributor capacity.

  6. Good organizational and time management skills while managing multiple priorities and projects.

  7. Ability to read and interpret documents such as agreements, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  8. Ability to understand economic, financial, industry, and organizational data; in order to accurately diagnose customers’ business strengths, weaknesses, and key issues resulting in sales strategies and plans and the recommendation of new products and services necessary to meet customer demands.

  9. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  10. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  11. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.

  12. Ability to apply concepts of basic math, algebra and geometry. 

  13. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  14. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  15. Ability to produce detailed, accurate, thorough and timely work.

  16. Potential for excellent business development skills with knowledge of selling and closing techniques.

  17. Good presentation and communication skills, verbal and written.

  18. Ability to establish and fulfill customer commitments in a timely manner.

  19. Ability to work within a team or one-on-one sales environment.

  20. Willingness and ability to develop expertise and then share that expertise with others.

  21. Excellent computer skills, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

  22. Good understanding of Treasury Management processes and procedures, from either a practitioners or bankers perspective.


Basic Qualifications
  1. High school diploma required; Bachelor degree or commensurate work experience preferred.

  2. Minimum of one (1) year of related treasury/finance/banking work experience required.

  3. Minimum of one (1) year of sales or sales support experience preferred.

  4. Flexibility to travel as needed.
