Accounting Manager

Department: Finance

Reports To: CFO

Location: Tampa, FL

Position Overview

Naked Farmer is entering a period of rapid expansion, and we are building the financial infrastructure needed to support that growth.
We are seeking an Assistant Controller to help strengthen the accounting foundation of the company — improving close processes, building internal controls, and supporting the systems required for a growing multi-unit restaurant platform.
This role will work closely with the Controller and CFO to ensure financial accuracy across a growing portfolio of restaurants while helping prepare the organization for its first financial statement review and future audit.
For someone who enjoys building systems, improving processes, and operating in a high-growth environment, this role offers the opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping the accounting function of a scaling company. This role provides a clear pathway toward a future Controller position as the company continues to grow.

What You'll Build

  • A disciplined monthly close process
  • Strong internal controls and accounting documentation
  • Scalable systems and workflows inside Restaurant365
  • Clean integrations between POS, delivery platforms, payroll, and accounting
  • Audit-ready financial reporting

Key Responsibilities

Monthly Close & Financial Reporting
  • Help lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
    • Ensure accurate financial reporting across multiple restaurant locations
    • Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
    • Maintain balance sheet integrity through reconciliations and variance analysis
    • Improve close timelines and standardize accounting procedures
Restaurant Revenue & Operational Accounting
  • Reconcile revenue across POS systems, online ordering, and third-party delivery platforms
    • Strengthen accounting processes related to inventory, food cost, and cost of goods sold
    • Monitor operational drivers impacting financial results including labor, purchasing, and store-level expenses
    • Improve visibility and consistency in location-level financial reporting
Lease Accounting & Restaurant Development Support
  • Maintain lease accounting schedules in compliance with ASC 842
    • Manage fixed asset accounting including restaurant buildouts and equipment
    • Support financial tracking of new restaurant openings and capital expenditures
    • Partner with real estate and development teams to ensure proper accounting treatment of projects
Cash, Treasury & Banking
  • Assist with daily cash reconciliation across restaurant locations
    • Improve treasury processes and cash visibility
    • Support banking relationships and reporting requirements
Internal Controls & Audit Preparation
  • Help design and implement scalable accounting policies and internal control frameworks
    • Support development of financial reporting processes required for lender reporting and audit readiness
    • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial partners
Systems & Process Improvement
  • Improve accounting workflows and reporting within Restaurant365
    • Partner with the Finance Systems & Data team to improve integrations between POS, payroll, inventory, and accounting platforms
    • Identify opportunities to automate reporting and streamline reconciliations
Team Development
  • Partner with the Controller to mentor and support accounting team members
    • Help develop scalable accounting practices as the company grows
    • Contribute to building a high-performing finance team focused on accuracy, discipline, and continuous improvement
QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
    • Master's in Accounting preferred
    • CPA required or actively pursuing
Experience
  • 8-10+ years of accounting experience
    • Public accounting experience strongly preferred
    • Experience with multi-unit, retail, restaurant, or consumer businesses preferred
Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
    • Experience with accounting systems (Restaurant365 a plus)
    • Advanced Excel skills
Ideal Candidate
  • Strong accounting discipline and attention to detail
    • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, high-growth environment
    • Builder mentality — enjoys improving processes and systems
    • Curious about operational drivers behind financial performance
    • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
Why This Role Matters

As Naked Farmer grows, strong financial discipline and scalable accounting systems become increasingly important.
This role will help build the accounting infrastructure needed to support expansion while ensuring the company maintains clean, reliable financial reporting.
