Job description

Non-Tenured Intermittent Student Assistant (Diet Office)

The Non-Tenured Intermittent Student Assistant (Diet Office) will be directed by the Dietetics Assistant Director in Nutrition Services at the Department of State Hospitals โ€“ Atascadero (ASH). The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to:

  • Prepare weekly diet menus. Complete diet menu changes.
  • Process diet orders into Diet Line, Modified Sack Lunch, Regular Line, and special nourishment instructions, including renewal orders.
  • Maintain patient diet kardexes.
  • Check accuracy of modified diet trays for all meals. Offer substitutes as needed.
  • Maintain patient attendance records.
  • Consult Nutrition Services staff regarding modified diets during and in between meal service/sack assembly tray line/regular tray line/on unit meal service.
  • Maintain accurate nutrition records
