Job description


We're hiring a Water Treatment Operator-in-Training II to support daily operations and maintenance at a water treatment facility. This role is ideal for someone with foundational water treatment experience looking to grow their skills.
Pay: $21.70 per hour
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Water Level I Certification
  • Minimum of one year of water treatment experience

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and operational tasks at a water treatment plant on an assigned shift
  • Operate treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water, sludge, and effluent under supervision
  • Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels; observe and report abnormalities
  • Operate valves, gates, pumps, engines, and generators to adjust treatment flow under direction
  • Maintain shift logs and record meter/gauge readings
  • Take samples and perform process control lab tests and analyses
  • Perform routine maintenance and custodial duties
  • Be fit and able to work overtime as needed
  • Follow written and oral instructions and safety procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of engine, pump, and equipment operation and maintenance principles
  • Familiarity with general maintenance work and safe work practices
  • Basic understanding of biological and chemical principles
