RBT (Registered Behavior Technician)

Hourly Rate: $35.00 โ€“ $40.00 per hour

Location: Hawaii; Onsite โ€“ School Setting

Position Summary

As a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), you will support students within the Hawaii Department of Education by implementing behavioral and educational interventions in accordance with individualized student plans and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies. This role works closely with teachers, Licensed Behavior Analysts (LBAs), and educational teams to help students achieve behavioral and academic success in a safe and supportive environment. Responsibilities Schedule / Shift
  • Shift details: Monday โ€“ Friday
  • Hours per week: 35โ€“40
  • Contract length: Through the end of the school year with the option to extend through summer or the following school year
Key Duties
  • Implement student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) using ABA strategies with at least 90% fidelity per performance checks completed by the LBA
  • Assist teachers and collaborate with educational and behavioral teams in implementing classroom and school routines
  • Accurately collect, maintain, and graph behavioral data
  • Utilize QBS Safety Care de-escalation strategies and physical management techniques as necessary to ensure safety
  • Attend and participate in individual and group supervision sessions to maintain BACB compliance requirements
Requirements Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Licenses & Certifications
  • Required: Active standing on the BACB Registry
  • Preferred: Current RBT Certification
Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a school or behavioral health setting
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to remain professional and adaptable in fast-paced environments
