POSITION SUMMARY
The QC Inspector is a dedicated, full-time onsite position responsible for performing continuous,
task-by-task quality inspections across all trades on a mission-critical data center construction
project. This role reports to the QA/QC Manager - Mission Critical/Data Centers and functions
as the primary field presence for quality control, conducting multiple inspections per day as work
is completed and before it is covered up or advanced. The QC Inspector documents findings,
flags non-conforming work for correction, and verifies that corrective actions are completed
before work proceeds, supporting the zero-defect standard required for successful
commissioning and owner acceptance.
KEY OUTCOMES AND OBJECTIVES
Same-day inspection documentation with no backlog, giving the QA/QC Manager - Mission
Critical/Data Centers real-time visibility into field quality status.
No work concealed, covered, or energized without required Hold Point/Witness Point sign-off.
Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) written, tracked, and closed out promptly, with corrective
actions verified before work proceeds.
An accurate, current punch list by area/system that drives timely correction rather than end-of-project backlog.
Complete, well-organized field records (photos, material certifications, calibration logs) ready to
support closeout and commissioning turnover without rework.
Field crews. Foremen, and Superintendents who see the QC Inspector as a clear, consistent
professional resource for getting work right the first time.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Safety Responsibilities
Prioritizes safety as the utmost importance, even before production, and promotes a team
culture that makes safety the primary focus for all employees at all times.
Adheres to safety procedures in accordance with federal or state-specific OSHA statutes and
regulations, in addition to all Company-specific and Client-required safety standard
Strategic Responsibilities

Builds and maintains strong relationships as trusted advisors to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Performs frequent, task-level field inspections throughout each shift, verifying installed work against approved drawings, specifications, Inspection & Test
Plans (ITPs), and manufacturer installation requirements.
Enforces designated Hold Points and Witness Points, confirming required inspections and approvals occur before work is concealed, covered, or
energized.
Documents all inspections with photos, measurements, and written notes using the project's quality documentation system; maintains a same-day
turnaround on inspection records.
Identifies and writes up NCRs for any work that does not meet contract, code, or manufacturer requirements, and tracks each NCR through corrective
action to verified closure.
Communicates directly with Superintendents and Foremen in the field to flag issues in real time and confirms corrective work before reinspection.
Maintains and updates punch lists by area/system, coordinating with subcontractors to drive timely resolution.
Verifies material certifications, calibration records, and installation documentation are collected and filed in real time to support closeout and
commissioning turnover packages.
Supports the QA/QC Manager - Mission Critical/Data Centers in preparing for owner, Commissioning Agent (CxA), and third-party/special inspection
walks by ensuring the area of work is inspection-ready.
Escalates recurring or systemic quality issues to the QA/QC Manager - Mission Critical/Data Centers promptly.
Maintains a working knowledge of applicable codes [International Building Code (IBC), National Electric Code (NEC), and National Fire Protection
Association (NFPA)] and owner-specific quality standards relevant to the assigned scope.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical trade certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years of field quality control/inspection experience in commercial, industrial, or mission critical
construction; prior data center or mission critical project experience strongly preferred
OTHER SKILLS: Working knowledge of one or more trade disciplines (structural stee, electrical, mechanical, or fire/life safety)
sufficient to perform detailed task-level inspections.
Strong working knowledge of commissioning processes (Cx Levels 1-5).
Demonstrated experience managing NCR and Corrective Action Request (CAR) processes and maintaining audit ready documentation for owner or third-party review.
Comfortable using mobile inspection/documentation tools (e.g., Procore, Smartsheet, PlanGrid, Fieldwire, or
similar) to log findings in real time.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with field crews, Foreman,
and Superintendents.
Ability to maintain professionalism and promotes the Company's core values.
Strong observational and coaching skills to provide real-time feedback.
Ability to work independently and take the initiative in delivering training and instruction.
Excellent written communication skills; ability to produce clear, defensible inspection and NCR documentation.
Willingness to relocate/live local to project site for the duration of the project assignment; ability to work extended
hours and adjust schedule to match field production.
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), or similar trade specific inspection certification a plus.
American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) a plus.
OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 certification preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to receive instruction and supervision.
Ability to perform work at elevations in excess of 30 feet.
Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Exposure to outdoor environments, including extreme weather conditions.
Must wear required PPE at all times (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, harness, etc.).
