ROLE SUMMARY:  The Jr. LabTechnician supports the development and provides technical expertise in thedevelopment of new products. The Jr. Lab Technician will receive guidance from,and execute tasks assigned by the Lab Manager to support these activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform laboratory tests toproduce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations.
  • Carryout routine tasks accurately and follow strict methodologies to carry outanalyses
  • Preparespecimens, reagents, and samples.
  • Performstandard quality control testing on incoming samples.
  • Maintainand operate laboratory instruments (e.g., pH meter, balances, UV-Visspectrophotometer).
  • Ensurethe laboratory is well-stocked and resourced.
  • Record,compile and sometimes interpret results to present to senior colleagues.
  • Cleanlaboratory glassware, equipment, and keep work areas clean and tidy.
  • Executetests according to standard operating procedures.
  • Fileand organize lab-related paperwork and electronic documents.
  • Performmathematical calculations and compose technical reports based on test results.
  • Followand ensure strict safety procedures and safety checks.
  • Setup and conduct chemical experiments.
  • Assistin the design and execution of sampling, experimental setups, and dataanalysis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-5 years of experience in a chemical laboratoryenvironment.
  • Diploma or degree in chemistry or adjacent engineering/bio-science.
  • Suitable technical writing skills.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to commission andmaintain technical equipment including a core flood apparatus is required.
  • Mechanical aptitude is anasset.
  • Flexibility to work with andprovide support for cross-functional teams.
