Job description

Datawatch Systems, Inc. is accepting applications for a full-time Purchasing/Warehouse representative to work in our Bethesda, MD location in the Purchasing and Inventory Department. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am-3:00 pm. Starting pay is $20/hour plus benefits and paid time off.

Applicants must be willing to submit to a drug screening and criminal background check.  EOE/M/F/V/D-DCJS #11-2294 

  • Location:  Bethesda, MD
  • Travel:  This role does not require travel.
  • Salary Range:  $20.00-25.00/hour

Inventory duties:

  • Receiving stock inventory (equipment, material, wire) on PO and placing in proper stock locations in warehouse. When appropriate, relocate and consolidate products and notify management of new stock location.
  • Receiving PO for material allocated to open project and place material in appropriate staging area.
  • Verifying inventory levels are above minimum and transfer overhead material to designated stock location as needed.
  • Print picklist for inventory requests associated with open project or warehouse transfer, and place material in staging area. 
  • Packing and shipping materials associated with open projects or warehouse transfer orders to regional offices. This includes picking, packing, weighing, and printing the shipping labels using third party applications.
  • Fulfill over the counter inventory request for open projects and warehouse transfers. 
  • Ensure all received material counts are accurate, and materials are free of damage.
  • Perform quality assurance inspections when appropriate.
  • Assist Cycle Counts of physical inventory. Provide inventory control reports as required.

Purchasing duties:

  • Research and compare suppliers/vendors (pricing, quality).
  • Create purchase orders for material as needed to maintain minimum on hand quantities.
  • Assist with tracking back-ordered items for open projects.
  • Reach out to vendors when needed about special order items.
  • Create purchase orders for open projects and truck inventory for will-call items.
  • Manage and process RMA’s and Inventory Returns.

  • Be highly organized.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills with employees and clients.
  • Minimum Education Requirements: Associate's Degree diploma in Accounting, Business 
  • Be able to lift 30 pounds and work on your feet, bending and reaching multiple times during the day.
  • Warehouse experience desired.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
