Job description

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly capable IT Server Administrator to play a critical role in maintaining and advancing our infrastructure. This position is responsible for the administration and optimization of hybrid environments, with an emphasis on reliability, security, and performance. The selected candidate will contribute to operational stability while driving the continued evolution of infrastructure capabilities and disaster recovery readiness.

ย The candidate for this position will be responsible for:

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining server operating systems, databases, applications, and virtual environments
  • Administering and optimizing Microsoft 365 and AWS services (Entra ID, Intune, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, EC2, etc.)
  • Providing advanced expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM), including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and least privilege access principles, utilizing tools such as Active Directory, Group Policy, Entra ID and Intune
  • Designing, executing, and validating backup, disaster recovery, and failover processes
  • Monitoring system performance and optimizing infrastructure resources
  • Supporting the hardware life cycle, including inventory, deployment, troubleshooting, replacement and decommissioning
  • Providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for infrastructure and employee support requests
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive system documentation; continually identifying and implementing improvements to infrastructure processes and operational standards
  • Maintaining awareness of security best practices; establish and enforce appropriate security baselines and controls, and ensure all remediation efforts are accurately documented

ย Requirements for the position include:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in an IT related field (may be waived in lieu of experience)
  • Two+ years experience working with server administration
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with server hardware and software (e.g., Windows Server, VMware)
  • Experience with disaster recovery platforms
  • Ability to work late and/or flexible hours
  • Occasional overnight and/or road travel

ย Preferred qualifications for this role include:

  • Experience/Certifications in: Azure Administrator, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, CompTIA Server+ or VMware Certified Professional
