Job Description
The CAD Operator is responsible for design and drafting of all CAD drawings in a clear andlogical manner. Responsibilities also include ensuring all drawings are formatted to company standards. They oversee the preparation of drawings and are mindful of project schedules and due dates with relation to CAD work. They work closely with the project engineers and project managers to assure design integrity and contract responsibilities with regards to CAD are met in a timely manner. The AutoCAD Drafter is accountable for the turn-around of drawing mark-ups from field personnel, for the creation of As-Built drawings and theproduction of architectural contract drawings and specifications for multiple telecommunications projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Responsible for creation of CAD drawings for appropriate projects
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the CAD drawing library according to company standards (file names, directories, drawing types, scans, etc.)
  • Responsible for maintaining the plotters, their associated supplies, and any regularly scheduled maintenance required in accordance with service contracts already in place
  • Maintains good communications between project managers and engineering staff
  • Responsible to take initiative to maintain education with regards to new versions ofsoftware, hardware, technologies, etc. in relation to job function
  • Must be willing to travel to different job sites for the purposes of creating drawings or AsBuilt drawings
  • Review and interpret accurately client specifications
  • Accept incoming documents from the field and the Infrastructure Services Manager
  • Incorporate field data into design criteria generated from the specifications
  • Report status and interface with Project Manager regarding project timelines
  • Prepare architectural presentation material using graphic software
  • Provide timely, accurate and complete documentation that meets required project standards
  • Help improve and maintain current quality assurance process and improve overall product quality
  • Maintain a proficiency in the use of Computer Aided Design software
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of telecommunications, infrastructural, design, structural, mechanical and electrical materials and methods commonly used incommercial and data warehouse construction
  • Remain abreast of trends in layout and construction and recommend their use whereappropriate
  • Investigate and recommend labor saving designs and cost effective construction techniques

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Must have AutoCAD software expertise and familiarity with Telecommunications, space and design planning according to ADA standards, with the ability to build a drawing library, and coordinate of structural, mechanical, electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct site research and consulting with municipalities to determine site requirements.
  • Must have at least 2 year of professional experience in wireless telecommunications or infrastructural design environment
