Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for a night shift travel contract at a Magnet-designated academic medical center, requiring oncology and surgical experience with a minimum of 2 years of RN experience.

Details
  • 28-bed acute care Medical/Surgical Oncology inpatient unit providing skilled nursing care in a hospital setting
  • Patient population includes those undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, and/or biological therapies
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
  • 13-week contract with potential for extension beyond 13 weeks
  • Charting via Epic (preferred, not required)
  • Weekends required on an as-needed basis
  • Floating within the hospital required; no floating to sister hospitals
  • No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
  • Active WA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand (pending license not accepted)
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Oncology and surgical nursing experience required
  • At least 2 travel assignments beyond an initial hospital position required
  • COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
  • Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
Additional Information
  • Care responsibilities include aggressive curative therapy, symptom management, ostomy care, and palliative care
  • Magnet-designated academic teaching medical center
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius requirement
  • RTO is limited to a maximum of 1 week and cannot be requested during orientation week; keep RTO to a minimum
  • Former UW staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
