Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for a night shift travel contract at a Magnet-designated academic medical center, requiring oncology and surgical experience with a minimum of 2 years of RN experience.
Details
- 28-bed acute care Medical/Surgical Oncology inpatient unit providing skilled nursing care in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes those undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, and/or biological therapies
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- 13-week contract with potential for extension beyond 13 weeks
- Charting via Epic (preferred, not required)
- Weekends required on an as-needed basis
- Floating within the hospital required; no floating to sister hospitals
- No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand (pending license not accepted)
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Oncology and surgical nursing experience required
- At least 2 travel assignments beyond an initial hospital position required
- COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
- Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
Additional Information
- Care responsibilities include aggressive curative therapy, symptom management, ostomy care, and palliative care
- Magnet-designated academic teaching medical center
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius requirement
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 1 week and cannot be requested during orientation week; keep RTO to a minimum
- Former UW staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
