Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology/Cath Lab position requiring 3-5 years of cardiac or interventional radiology imaging experience and an active NJ or compact RN license.

Details
  • Work in the Advanced Vascular unit performing interventional radiology and cardiac imaging procedures
  • Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm schedule with no weekend requirements
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • May float to a sister hospital nearby as needed
  • Uses EPIC for electronic charting
  • Performs pre-procedural assessments including medical history, renal function, cardiac status, and contraindication review
  • Administers and titrates medications per protocol for cardiac imaging optimization
  • Establishes IV access for contrast administration, including use of power injectors
  • Accesses implanted chest ports
Requirements
  • Active NJ or compact RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of critical care experience required
  • 3-5 years of cardiac telemetry monitoring, cardiac imaging, or radiology/interventional radiology imaging experience required
  • Strong IV insertion skills required
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
Additional Information
  • Provides continuous patient monitoring before, during, and after cardiac imaging procedures
  • Responds to emergencies including contrast reactions and acute clinical events per ACLS guidelines
  • Delivers patient education and ensures informed consent for procedures
  • Collaborates with radiologists, technologists, and interdisciplinary teams to support efficient workflow
  • Implements evidence-based practices to reduce risk of contrast-related complications
  • Documents care accurately in the electronic medical record
  • Ensures adherence to departmental protocols and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission requirements
  • Local candidates accepted at a different pay rate
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this role
