Telemetry Technician
Job Summary
Provide advanced ECG monitoring while assessing patient status through ECG strip analysis and arrhythmia interpretation. Responsibilities include identifying and responding to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes, initiating codes, recording rhythms during codes, performing continuous EKG monitoring with accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias, troubleshooting monitoring problems, and appropriately responding to all monitor alarms.
Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Red Cross within one year.
  • Completion of a Dysrhythmia Course.
Additional Information
  • Perform electrocardiograms in multiple settings, including proper electrode placement.
  • Communicate effectively with charge nurses, co-workers, and physicians.
  • Enter and verify orders in the computer system.
  • Retrieve laboratory results and notify the charge nurse as needed.
  • Ensure documentation meets current standards and organizational policies.
  • Safely manage and operate monitoring and medical equipment.
