Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry Unit position requiring MI RN licensure and Cerner PowerChart experience.

Details
  • Work in a 54-bed main Cardiac Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
  • Patient population includes heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, stroke requiring cardiac monitoring, arrhythmias, and chest pain, with possible overflow medical patients
  • Patient ratios typically range from 1:5-6, with potential increases up to 1:7 during call-ins
  • Patients are monitored via remote telemetry and closely observed on the unit
  • Manages cardiac drips (no titration required)
  • Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
  • No call requirements
  • Floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals may be required depending on volume/census
  • Uses Cerner PowerChart for charting
Requirements
  • Active MI RN license required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • Experience with 1:5-7 patient ratios preferred
  • Cerner charting experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted
Additional Information
  • Provide direct care and monitoring for cardiac telemetry patients, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Participate in rapid response and code team activities as needed
  • Royal blue scrubs required
  • Maximum RTO allowed is 10 days; if RTO falls during holidays, must be willing to work at least 1 of the 3 major holidays
  • Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed, though management will attempt to accommodate requests
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel assignment
  • Local candidates will not be considered
  • Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
  • Assignment is with a facility that maintains strict professional conduct standards; unprofessional behavior or shift call-offs may result in immediate contract termination
