Manager, Security

Full-Time (Hybrid)

The Manager, Security is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies to safeguard company assets, personnel, and facilities. This role involves identifying and assessing risks, responding to security incidents, and enforcing measures to mitigate vulnerabilities. The Manager, Security collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate security requirements into business operations and projects, conducts regular audits and inspections, liaises with external stakeholders such as law enforcement and vendors, and fosters a culture of security awareness by training employees on relevant protocols and procedures.

How You'll Help: 

  • Develop and implement extensive security plans, policies and procedures to protect personnel, assets and information.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as human resources and IT, to ensure compliance with security protocols and standards.
  • Investigate security breaches, incidents and violations, document findings and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external partners, such as law enforcement agencies and security vendors, to enhance security capabilities.
  • Educate employees on security awareness, policies and procedures through training programs and communication initiatives.
  • Stay informed about the latest security technologies, trends and regulatory requirements and make recommendations for enhancements to the security program.

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in security management, criminal justice or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in security management, law enforcement or the armed forces, with a strong understanding of security principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of emergency response planning and incident management.
  • Ability to adapt to changing security threats and technologies.
  • Training or experience in emergency response and crisis management.
  • In-depth knowledge of security technologies, incident management software and other security-related equipment, such as access control systems and CCTV surveillance.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement security policies, procedures and programs.
  • Proficiency in security assessments, audits and investigations.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for identifying and mitigating security risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Bilingual (English and French) is a strong asset.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
