Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Martinsville, VA, requiring a minimum of 1 year of ED experience and certifications including ACLS, BLS, PALS or ENPC, CPI/Handle with Care, and NIH Stroke Scale.

Details
  • Work in a 34-bed Emergency Department at an acute-care hospital licensed for 220 beds
  • Serves all patient populations including pediatric, adult, and geriatric
  • Common diagnoses and treatments include chest pain, CHF, COPD, and psychiatric cases
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • EMR system: Medhost
  • Day/evening shift: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
  • Weekends required every other weekend
  • On-call required as needed
  • Floating required as needed
  • 13-week contract
Requirements
  • Active VA or Compact RN license required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, CPI/Handle with Care, and NIH Stroke Scale — all must be AHA-issued and in hand prior to start
  • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
  • SSN and date of birth required for consideration
  • Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
  • Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
  • Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere
