Job Title: Risk Management Specialist - Advanced
Location: Harrisburg, PA 17101
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
Work Arrangement: Hybrid / Part-Time Telework

Job Summary
The client is seeking a Risk Management Specialist to support its Critical Incident Management and Mortality Review/Quality Management teams. The position will focus on participant risk management, case reviews, critical incident analysis, mortality reviews, data analysis, and quality improvement for Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) programs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct case and record reviews to identify and mitigate participant risks.
  • Support critical incident investigations and resolution of high-profile and sentinel events.
  • Assist with mortality reviews and track follow-up activities.
  • Analyze incident and mortality data to identify trends, patterns, and risk factors.
  • Develop reports, charts, and data summaries using Excel and statistical software.
  • Provide technical assistance to MCOs, service coordination entities, providers, and other agencies.
  • Coordinate with protective services, law enforcement, and other stakeholders when required.
  • Maintain data integrity and tracking systems.
  • Participate in system testing, workgroups, committees, and special projects.
  • Apply project management and quality improvement principles to assigned initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Business, or related field, OR 3 years of related experience.
  • At least 1 year of Incident Management or Risk Management experience within the human services field.
  • Quantitative analysis and reporting experience preferred.
Required Skills
  • Risk identification, mitigation, and case management.
  • Basic knowledge of statistics, statistical analysis, and epidemiology.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, disabilities, ADLs/IADLs, and participant health and welfare.
  • Ability to learn and use systems such as HCSIS, WellSky, CIS/eCIS, and EIM.
  • Ability to travel independently, including occasional overnight travel.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience in risk management, incident management, case management, quality management, healthcare, human services, Medicaid, or HCBS, along with strong analytical and communication skills.
