Opportunity for an RBT Floater!Join the Breakthrough ABA Family!

Breakthrough ABA is seeking a reliable, flexible, and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Floater to support our growing clinical team! This unique role is ideal for an RBT who enjoys variety, adaptability, and making an impact wherever support is needed most.

Sign-On Bonus: $200 for Behavior Technicians and $500 for Registered Behavior Technicians. Bonus is paid in two installments: 50% after 3 months of employment and 50% after 6 months of employment.

We provide high-quality ABA services across the Greater Houston and Beaumont areas, and center-based services in Cypress, TX. Our RBT Floaters play a key role in ensuring continuity of care for our clients by covering sessions when cancellations occur and providing in-clinic or administrative support when needed.

RBT Floater Role Summary

The RBT Floater ensures seamless service delivery by providing coverage for clients across assigned regions when a staff member is absent. When not providing direct ABA services, Floaters complete assigned administrative tasks and help support clinic operations.

Floaters are guaranteed 35 hours per week, with client service hours prioritized. If client hours fall below 30, remaining hours are supplemented with administrative or support tasks.


RBT Floater Duties & ResponsibilitiesFloater Responsibilities
  • Provide coverage for cancellations to maintain continuity of care

  • Assist in-clinic with materials prep, front desk coverage, and general operational tasks

  • Support new hires by providing shadowing or mentorship as assigned

Standard RBT Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 direct ABA therapy in-home, in-clinic, or in-school

  • Build strong rapport with clients and families

  • Implement BCBA-designed treatment plans and interventions

  • Collect accurate behavior and skill acquisition data

  • Report behavior changes or program concerns to the supervising BCBA

  • Participate in assessments, team meetings, and supervision

  • Maintain documentation and convert sessions within 24 hours

  • Maintain professional boundaries and follow the BACB RBT Code of Ethics

  • Travel to client locations as needed


Schedule & Compensation
  • Pay Range: Competitive, based on experience

  • Hours: Guaranteed 30 hours/week

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday (with flexibility)

  • Settings: Homes, clinics, schools within assigned service area

  • Locations: Greater Houston, Beaumont, Cypress


Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Active RBT certification in good standing

  • At least 6 months experience working with children

  • Ability to travel within a 30-mile radius

  • Strong communication, professionalism, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to follow treatment plans and maintain accurate documentation

  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance

  • Must pass a background check

  • Ability to lift 35 lbs, sit on the floor, bend, kneel, and run short distances

  • Ability to manage challenging behaviors safely and professionally


Additional Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • CPR, HIPAA, and Bloodborne Pathogens training (or willingness to obtain)

  • Must maintain RBT certification and continuing education requirements
