Job description

A full-time position is available for a Peer Recovery Support Specialist within the Horizons programs. The Peer Recovery Support Specialist will provide non-clinical, peer-to-peer support services designed to promote individuals' health improvement, recovery, resiliency, and overall wellness.To be considered for this position, applicants must demonstrate a minimum of one year of lived experience with substance use disorder challenges and sustained personal recovery, as documented in the application.This position requires travel between all Horizons program sites, with the primary work location based at the Franklin County Horizons program.  A valid driver's license and a safe driving record are required.  Applicants must be certified as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist in Virginia or be eligible to obtain certification. Salary is commensurate with education & experience as it relates to the position.Must be willing to consent to background checks, including checks for barrier crimes, and drug screening as part of the application process.
