We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Mechanic specializing in Heavy Equipment to join our team. This role involves traveling to project sites and diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment in the field. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with OEM parts, and the ability to work independently in various outdoor environments. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Class B CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsement.

Experience with CAT machines including but not limited to:

  • Articulation Trucks

  • Larger Excavators

  • Dozers

  • Skid Steers

  • Wheel Loaders

  • On Road Trucks

  • Proficient in performing preventive maintenance (PM) on various equipment, including 250, 500, 1000, and 2000-hour service intervals.

  • Must be able to work swing shifts and have flexibility for both day and night shifts.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment.

  • Grease all Equipment

  • Work closely with the maintenance and operations teams to ensure minimal downtime and efficient operations.

  • Willingness to travel to project sites throughout the United States and ability to stay for extended periods.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid Class B CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements.

  • Previous experience with CAT heavy equipment, including Haul Trucks, Loaders, Excavators, Dozers, and Skid Steers.

  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks on heavy-duty equipment.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Must be flexible with shifts and work extended hours as needed.

  • Familiar with Caterpillar SIS, ET programs preferred.

Working Conditions

  • This position will be located in Denver, CO but will require travel frequently to job sites throughout the United States.

  • Work is primarily performed on active construction job sites, including highways, roadways, and heavy civil infrastructure projects.

  • Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and dust.

  • Position requires walking, standing, climbing, bending, and lifting in a construction environment.

  • May require extended work hours, early mornings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays to meet project schedules.

  • Frequent interaction with heavy equipment, moving machinery, traffic, and construction hazards; strict adherence to safety protocols is required.

  • Travel between job sites may be required depending on project location.

  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory at all job sites.
