Travel:Minimal. Occasional local travel may be required to support meetings, working groups, or leadership engagements.

Background:Vectronais seeking a Senior Editor to provide executive-level editorial support to senior National Guard leadership and headquarters staff organizations. This position serves as the lead editor for executive correspondence, staff actions, policy documents, briefings, publications, and leadership communications. The Senior Editor ensures written products are accurate, clear, professionally presented, and aligned with organizational standards before submission to senior decision-makers.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Review, edit, and refine executive correspondence, staff packages, memoranda, information papers, reports, and leadership communications.
  • Ensure written products meet established standards for grammar, clarity, style, format, consistency, and professionalism.
  • Perform substantive editing, quality assurance reviews, fact-checking, and content validation.
  • Support development of executive summaries, briefing materials, talking points, decision-support products, and official correspondence.
  • Collaborate with analysts, action officers, and leadership staff to improve content quality and message effectiveness.
  • Verify compliance with organizational correspondence standards, administrative guidance, and publication requirements.
  • Review complex technical, operational, and policy-related documents for readability and accuracy.
  • Assist with document organization, indexing, records management, and publication preparation activities.
  • Provide writing guidance and editorial recommendations to Government personnel and support staff.
  • Support special projects requiring research, content development, document review, and publication support.

PreferredEducation/Degree:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Public Affairs, Technical Writing, Government, Public Administration, or related field.

Preferred Knowledge,Skillsand Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of professional editing, executive correspondence, technical writing, communications, publications management, or related experience.
  • Experience supporting DoD, Joint Staff, National Guard, Service Headquarters, Federal agencies, or comparable executive-level organizations.
  • Expert knowledge of executive correspondence standards, editorial practices, document quality assurance, and publication processes.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and fact-checking skills.
  • Experience reviewing policy documents, staff actions, briefings, leadership communications, and executive-level products.
  • Ability to translate complex information into concise, clear, and effective written communications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, SharePoint, and collaborative document development tools.
  • Experience supporting senior executives, General Officers, Flag Officers, SES personnel, or equivalent leadership organizations preferred.
  • Professional editing, communications, public affairs, or technical writing certification preferred.
