Family Matters Care Consultants is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Trauma-Informed Mental Health Therapist to join our compassionate team in providing high-quality mental health care. Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments that evaluate patients’ trauma histories and guide treatment planning.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans aimed at achieving clients’ recovery goals and improving their quality of life.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, fostering a safe environment for patients to express their experiences and develop effective coping strategies.
• Engage in close collaboration with psychiatrists and other care providers to ensure the delivery of holistic and integrated mental health services.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention support and guidance during trauma-related emergencies, adhering to established protocols.
• Educate patients and families about trauma responses and available coping resources to promote understanding and empowerment.
• Maintain precise and confidential client documentation, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards.
• Participate in case consultations and professional development activities focused on best practices in trauma-informed care.
• Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to continually refine therapeutic approaches.

In this role, you will primarily work with individuals who have experienced significant trauma, including those dealing with PTSD, complex trauma, and related dissociative disorders. Many of our clients are seeking relief from debilitating symptoms, and your expertise will be instrumental in guiding them through their recovery journeys. Empathy and a thorough understanding of trauma-informed care principles are essential in effectively supporting each unique individual.

The following qualifications are required for this position:

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited university.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois.
• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience, specifically in trauma-focused settings.
• Comprehensive knowledge of trauma-related disorders and proficiency in trauma-informed treatment approaches.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate and approachable demeanor.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress scenarios, providing support to patients in times of crisis.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, as well as general computer applications and technology.
• A collaborative spirit, ready to engage with a multidisciplinary team to provide the best care possible.

While not mandatory, the following experiences will be considered beneficial:

• Hands-on experience delivering a variety of trauma-focused therapeutic interventions.
• Participation in continuous education programs or workshops related to trauma therapy practices.
