Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift Surgery Trauma unit position requiring a GA or compact RN license and at least 2 years of specialty experience.

Details
  • Work on a high-acuity Surgery Trauma unit (6B) within a Level 1 trauma center hospital
  • Care for a surgical patient population including gunshot wound, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
  • Patient ratio of 5:1
  • Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
  • Support staff includes nursing support techs, phlebotomists, and a night unit secretary
  • ED nurse and admitting unit complete a formal nurse handoff process
  • Deferred schedule type with no block scheduling and no guaranteed days off
  • Must be willing to work assigned shifts, including 4 weekend shifts per month
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses EPIC EMR
Requirements
  • Active RN license (GA state or compact) currently in hand
  • BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Surgery Trauma or a similar specialty
  • Experience in high-acuity, high-volume trauma hospital settings required
  • EPIC EMR experience required

  • Provide nursing care to complex surgical and trauma patients in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Candidates should have proven success managing critical, high-acuity cases in large-scale trauma settings
