THRIVE Academy is a Trauma-Informed, Therapeutic school serving students in grades Kโ€“12 from 27+ partner districts across Iowa. As part of the Manson Northwest Webster Community School District, THRIVE provides an alternative educational setting for students with social-emotional, behavioral, mental health, and academic needs.

With small class sizes, high staff-to-student ratios, and embedded classroom support, teachers at THRIVE are able to focus on what matters most-relationships, individualized instruction, and meaningful growth.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Middle School / High School Math Teacher to join our collaborative and mission-driven team. In this role, you will provide high-quality math instruction while creating a classroom environment that is safe, structured, and responsive to students' unique learning and emotional needs.

At THRIVE, math instruction is not one-size-fits-all. You'll work with students at varying academic levels, using flexible pacing, differentiated instruction, and restorative practices to help students build both mathematical understanding and self-confidence.

What You'll Do
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students and families.
  • Deliver district and state-approved math curriculum aligned to learning standards.
  • Design and implement differentiated lesson plans to meet individual and small-group needs.
  • Provide meaningful feedback to support academic growth and skill development.
  • Create a safe, trauma-informed classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Utilize MTSS frameworks to support academic and behavioral growth.
  • Collaborate with support staff to address students' social-emotional and behavioral needs.
  • Maintain accurate grades, records, attendance, and documentation.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with students, families, and administrators regarding progress.
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning and growth to strengthen instructional practices.
